What If All The World Used The Same Currency?
The recent struggles in the U.S. economy and the government's penchant to throw money at the problems have led to a chorus of nations, led by China, calling for a new world currency. The dollar is currently the world's "reserve" currency which means that most of the world's transactions are brokered with dollars. China has a horde of our dollars and a lot of our I.O.U.s, if America inflates its dollar it will diminish the return on the credit and the buying power of their savings. From the article i read, its kind of hard to see the world using anything than our own dollar. Its reliable and like the article showed, all our economies are different, if the wolrd all had the same currency it wouldnt matter, because the countries under this umbrella currency would still have the same taxes and polices as they did with there old currency. Its my personal opinion that the world powers showed unite to help this situation but not go under one global currency.
