I think the idea has a lot of promise. If we even only got 1/2 of employed people to do this, the results would be amazing. It would create competition and would also generate a vast amount of tax dollars. I think the idea is sound and should be promoted more to the public.
ReplyDeleteIt may/can work, however using online services and importing from overseas can provide more convenient ways to buy and often offer more choices and prices. Out of half of the employed population, there is no doubt going to be a good amount of people disregarding the money being lost through buying non-locally for their own self-interest and convenience.
ReplyDeleteAlso certain businesses out-sourcing products buy from overseas to sell here in the states. This would be the same as buying personal goods overseas, thereby returning nothing to the country. Even worse than returning nothing, the country is losing money through out-sourcing, as jobs are lost and salaries paid to those outside the country.
