"An economist is someone who sees something working in practice and asks whether it would work in principle."
aww, I feel bad for Obama because everyone was expecting so much change, so soon... and thats not how things work. Sure, the nation's in some DEEP doodoo, but it's still not as bad as the depression was and George would have cried then. Its just in need of resoration.
Its hard to get through everything. It takes some time to come up with the best solution. When someone like Obama instills hope into everyone, its easy to hold onto the idea that he could be "the one" that will save us. But he is still a human who is fighting these problems. We must have patience but still be persistent. Its easy to see the worst in any situation.

Is that just a drop of rain that somehow got right under his eye? If so, I'm impressed. Then again, it could always just be Photoshop. Anyways, I think Washington wouldn't feel all too bad; after all, he had to deal with much, MUCH worse in his time. If anything, I think he'd be proud of the rate at which Obama is trying to fix things.
First I have to say that it's a really good picture. I think that it reflects what many Americans feel when they see how The United States' economy gets worse every day. We hear about the Great Depression but I think that none of us really thinks about how life was during those days, so now we believe that our situation is the worst. In my opinion, we will be able to recover, the process has been and will be hard, but we'll make it. We have to remember that and look for every single option we have to do it, we can't say that it's over untl we've tried everything.
In a way I feel like people are being selfish, but is in our nature, so i suppose it shouldnt come as a shock. Everyone wants big change, everyone wants change now. And because stimulius plans and Obamas plans to make America better will not only take long, but be a strenuous process of errors and success. No one knows the exact day in which our economy will turn around ( to then start the cycle over again) and not knowing is a great fear for all Americans. Us being selfish is what got us in trouble in the first place. And now the only thing we can do is throw more money into our problems and hope for the best.
I think most people expected Obama to come and save the economy in a matter of days, but in reality he is only human and can only do soo much to try to fix the problem. Patience is a virtue that many people are forgetting about this isn't a small problem that can go away in matter of days. This is a problem that needs to be solved through the process of trial and error and will take a while to solve. People need to be slow to judge and pactient, also they should give Obama's plans and ideas a chance to work.
It really looks like he is crying!!! Paitence is what america needs to have right now! Barack Obama will help to restore our country he just needs time, he has only been in office for 3 months , we may not start seeing change for years. Our economy will eventually turn around and we will owe it to Obama who believes that it will happen. George needs to wipe away his tears and be paitent like we are trying to do!!!!
Poor George =( but we just need some time to get through this depression. One our economy has been restored we will restore George's face. and people have nothing better to do than to think of things like why george is crying.
It is sad to see our nation deteriorating, but if everyone keeps looking at things pessimistically, there will be no way for us to ever get out of the reccession that we are in. It is imparitive that we do not lose hope and that we do not crumble and instead take control as our forefathers would have wanted us to. =]
Aww, George really looks like he's crying. That's really ironic, but I can see where he's coming from. Honestly, it was about time where our selfish, non-conservative society that doesn't always think about what the consequences may be caught up to us. I mean, we couldn't possibly keep going on the way we were and not expect everything to finally burst. It took all us to create this problem and we are all counting on one man and his team to solve the problem that we all contributed to. I believe that there are so much pressure on Obama and it's unfair. I mean, this is a deep hole that we all dug and he's not some magician who can wave a wand and make it all better in a blink of an eye. His solutions are going to take a long time and it's not 100% that it's going to work (now I'm not insulting him). I get that he's become a symbol of hope and to help us out of this bad economy, but with all this high expectations, I feel that people are just setting themselves up for disappointment. For example, if something doesn't work that he purposes are we going to blame him and not support him as much as we are now? Honestly, if people don't start easing the pressure and expectation, they can't blame him for something that doesn't work. He's only human that can do as much as he can and believe that will bring America back to the way it was, but don't be surprised when something doesn't turn out the way we all want. I agree with Jen, it is sad to see our nation, our economy, and our hopes deteriorating. This picture make you think, what would the great former leaders of our country do in our situation? and what will our great leader of today do to pull us out of our slump and back into America's former glory?
